Introduction to the advantages of Zigbee smart devices
“ZigBee” comes from ZigZag, which is a bee’s body language. When bees find a new flower bush, they will use a special dance to inform their companions of the type and location of the flower bush. This is a simple and efficient way of transmitting information between bee colonies. The ZigBee protocol is as simple and efficient as the dance of bees, so ZigBee is also called the “Zigbee Protocol.”
Five advantages of Zigbee smart devices:
- Low power consumption: Zigbee is a low-power transmission protocol. An ordinary button battery or alkaline battery can last for more than 3 months or even longer.
- Short delay: ZigBee has a faster response speed, generally only 15ms from sleep to working state, and only 30ms for node connection to enter the network. In comparison, Bluetooth requires 3-10s, and WiFi requires 3s.
- Large capacity: ZigBee can adopt star-shaped, sheet-shaped and mesh network structures. One master node can manage several sub-nodes. At most one master node can manage 254 sub-nodes; at the same time, the main node can also be managed by the upper network node. A large network of up to 65,000 nodes can be formed.
- Reliable data transmission: ZigBee uses a talk-when-ready collision avoidance mechanism. Under this fully confirmed data transmission mechanism, when there is a data transmission demand, it will be sent immediately. Each data packet sent must wait for the receiver’s confirmation message and reply with confirmation information. If there is no reply to the confirmation message, it means that a conflict has occurred and will be retransmitted. Using this method can improve the reliability of system information transmission.
- High security: Zigbee uses AES-128 encryption algorithm, each application can flexibly determine its security attributes
